This May 26th-30th, I will be one of thirty or so presenters, each giving a different workshop, at the Making Zen Online Retreat. The workshop is FREE to attend but only for one week.
In my workshop, we will be sewing spirit owls. Now as soon as I say that, I’m thinking, Ok, how do I explain what spirit owls are? And I have to think a bit because nobody really knows. What I do know is that when spirit owls come to me, they always come in threes (don’t ask me why), and that they are zenki spirit owls. And I also know, from experience, that even a single spirit owl is a wonderful companion and is really useful to have hanging around.
They have these wonderfully big eyes (which I suspect are kind of magical) because they can see in the dark, that is, they can see what we can’t, or what we just overlook as unimportant..and that’s really helpful. I guess the easiest way to explain spirit owls is to say that they’re just brimming with intuition. And I for one think we need to listen to our intuitions just a little more than we often do…or don’t…as the case may be. I hope that clears things up.
This will be a step-by-step workshop showing you how to make this easy to sew spirit owl.
These spirit owls are classic zenkis, which means, they require only a little felt, a running stitch and a basic decorative stitch that I will show you…and a little stuffing. Like all zenkis, these spirit owls are a doable, simple to sew, stress-free projects with plenty of room for you to follow your own creative inspirations. And it means that within 30 minutes, you will have created your very own spirit owl! Even if you’ve never sewn before!
You can enjoy making these fellas for yourself, or make them for or with your kids/grandkids. And they make beautiful handmade gifts. Here’s a link to a free ticket and more info about the event. But remember all the workshops at the retreat are only free to watch for one week.
Oh and before a forget this is Stella who easily the star of my Making Zen Online Retreat last year.
Hope to see you there, Trixi.
