Sew a Softie 2017 is almost over

Sew a Softie really blossomed this month. We’ve now got over 900 members in the Facebook group. A lot of people made softies for the first time, often with the help of the daily tutorials, and posted their creations in the group. There were lots of great tips and plenty of sharing.

I loved how many kids got involved this year. We had 17 official kid ambassadors but also lots of kids who just got inspired and sewed a softie by themselves or together with friends. Many of the kid ambassadors held Sew a Softie parties, many designed their own softies and many made their own video tutorial or wrote tutorials on blogs.

All the softies looked amazing and all the kid ambassadors received a special ambassador badge designed by my daughter, Yiscah. I hope they had as much fun making their softies as I had in seeing them. One new member joining the group said that she wanted to learn “the Sew a Softie way”. I really like that phrase. It sums up the simplicity and creativity that the projects showed again and again. Especially the kid’s softies.

All in all, there was a real buzz going on this month. My own softies told me how proud they feel to have a whole month each year devoted to them. And they asked me to send everyone their thanks and appreciation.
