DIY Bat Pin to Decorate your Bag or Jacket

Find out how really easy it is to make your own bat pin

Pins are every where at the moment, so designing an easy DIY bat pin to decorate your bag or jacket seemed like a fun idea. It’s quick to make and would be a great Halloween party favour.

I love these little fellas and I’ve also made them rainbow coloured. Actually I think bats can be rather cute , we have a few who come to our mulberry tree and i love hearing their chatty little voices as they munch on mulberries.

What you need to make your bat pin

4″ x 4″ felt

2 googly eyes

2 1/2″ wire or pipe cleaner

Pin back

Washi or masking tape

Glue

What you need to do

Download and print the bat pin template. Cut out 2 bat shapes from black felt.

Glue google eyes on one of the bat shapes.

Bend your wire into a “bird” shape…

and hold in place with a small piece of wash tape.

Push the pin through the felt and glue into place.

Glue the bat shape with the eyes onto the other bat shape.

Clip on the pin back and you’re done!
